"If your company is not interested in design, it is meaningless". This quote by Kjell Nordström and Jonas Ridderstrale is how I would like to start this text about one of our nearly completed projects in Moscow.
Another example of when design becomes defining is when everything is subjected to meaning and form. When one wants to hold one's breath upon seeing the end result.
It was a long and challenging project. We worked with the customer's team for over a year.
It took several months to agree on the colour and gradient of each lamella. And then again, new colours and new approvals. But when you see the result, you realise it wasn't all for nought. In "short" projects, when you don't have enough time to finalize the details, the result is not the same and then your breathing is regular.
More than 155 meters of 400 mm high lamellas with different gradients, carefully installed by the hands of our decorators, turned the ceiling of the restaurant in the Eurasia Tower in Moscow City into a truly delightful artistic object.
All the difficulties of installation and work disappear into the background, and instead, we just admire the result of our joint work with the customer and continue to believe that beauty will save our world.
