We are pleased to share the process of a successful experiment that we conducted in one of the new residential complexes in Moscow - “Symbol”! There are 4 sections of halls on the 1st floor of the Symbol residential complex where we have developed unique designs of ceiling systems. Those are mesmerizing compositions of round and wavy streamlined shapes. In fact, we were given the task of making the ceiling elements clearer and more structured.
For elements which geometry is based on the design radius, we prepared aluminum half-rings, which we hid in the lower “pocket” of the lamellas. However, the use of such semi rings for elements that have an abstract streamlined shape is impossible. Thus, we have found a solution very quickly! That’s why, for the first time in our experience, a flexible lead strip was used, with which we fixed the free lower edge of these elements. Eventually, this solution has allowed to give to an abstract form a clearer geometry.
This successful experiment brought one of our new ideas to life, thereby expanding the field of capabilities and technologies of our company Paper Design®. We are confident that this gained experience will allow us to impress you with even more creative and unique design solutions!
