A low ceiling in the office? 21 September 2022

How often do you encounter facilities with extremely low ceilings in your work? What tricks and design techniques do you use? And if on top of that it is not only a low ceiling, but also narrow mazelike corridors?

We suggest you look at a selection of photos of our projects, where you can see that using flame-retardant paper architecture you can not only solve the problem of a low ceiling, but also visually raise it.

There are two types of ceiling systems that we can recommend to solve the problem of low ceilings.

This is a Honeycomb® ceiling, which is manufactured in France and has options of 4-8-16 cm height and three honeycomb size options. One example of a low ceiling problem solved successfully is the honeycomb® ceiling project in an office space located in the Federation Tower "A" (East). The lobby had to be transformed, and the customer contacted our company directly for a solution to this issue. As a result, the smallest honeycomb size was chosen - 12 honeycombs per 1m, which allowed to provide maximum camouflage of the ceiling space and at the same time to design the ceiling space of 254 m2 in a unique style.

The second solution is the Drop Stripe® lamellar ceiling, positioned lengthwise (not as standard, crosswise) of the office lobby.  The author of the project using the architectural paper ceiling was Tatiana Yakobson. The project turned out to be absolutely stunning! Despite the low ceiling in the room, and although the lamellas are rather high, around 40 cm, the ceiling looks light and airy. This is achieved by the unique property of the material: translucency, which, if the ceiling is well illuminated, visually raises the ceiling and makes it noticeably higher.

In addition, we enclose a selection of photos with low ceilings for your inspiration!

Architects and designers, consider these techniques in your projects, solve the weak points of the facilities with our participation, and you are guaranteed success.
