Presenting one of our new projects, we’d like to highlight the thoughtful approach to installing our architectural paper ceilings. Recessed niches designed specifically for Wave ceiling® and Drop Stripe ceiling® systems offer an excellent way to conceal suspension structures.
Perimeter borders of 150–200 mm in height are ideal for hiding the mesh base used to hang the artistic lamella composition of Wave ceiling®, or the cables for Drop Stripe ceiling®.
If the existing niche has enough depth, it’s always possible to lower the mounting points closer to the bottom edge — which not only affects the visual proportions but also directly influences the final cost, since the amount of Drop Paper® used determines the price of the ceiling system.
The space inside the niche is perfect for integrating lighting: 50% of the ceiling’s final appearance depends on how well it is illuminated. Proper lighting reveals the full aesthetic potential of architectural paper ceilings.
In the project we’re sharing today, we used exactly this kind of setup — placing the stunning graphite-colored Wave ceiling® inside a ceiling recess.
The design, created by ABD architects for the meeting room at Kept’s Moscow office (Leningradsky Avenue 34A), is truly worth your attention!
Everything here is perfectly balanced: the chosen color, the lighting (a mix of spotlights and LED strips), the 5-meter niche, and the lamella height of 500 mm.
Such an original ceiling design in an office interior is sure to impress both staff and visitors with its refined architectural presence.
